Commercial Window Tinting

Commercial Window Tinting in Northglenn, CO

Commercial glass can create very different conditions throughout the same building. One exposure may produce intense afternoon heat and glare while another works perfectly well as-is.

Splash Window Tint installs 3M commercial window film for businesses and commercial properties looking to improve the performance of existing glass without automatically replacing the windows. The goal isn't to tint every pane or make the building darker—it's to identify what the glass needs to do differently.

What Problem Is Your Commercial Glass Creating?

Commercial window tinting can address several problems, but that doesn't mean every property needs the same solution.

  • Solar Heat: Reduce solar heat entering through exposed glass and help address hot spots in offices, customer areas and other occupied spaces.

  • Glare: Control direct sunlight that creates uncomfortable glare on computer screens, displays and work surfaces.

  • UV Exposure: Reduce UV transmission that contributes to fading of flooring, furnishings, merchandise and interior finishes.

  • Privacy: Change visibility through selected glass in offices, conference rooms and other spaces where additional privacy is useful.

  • Appearance: Certain architectural films can change the appearance of existing glass without replacing it.

  • Energy Efficiency: Solar-control film can reduce heat gain through glass and help reduce the cooling demand created by direct sunlight.

The important question isn't how much tint a building needs. It's where the glass is creating a problem and what needs to change.

3M Commercial Window Film

Splash Window Tint is an authorized 3M installer. 3M manufactures architectural window films with different combinations of solar control, visible light transmission, reflectivity, privacy and appearance.

3M's commercial architectural lineup includes product families such as Prestige Series, Prestige Exterior Series, Ceramic Architectural Series, Night Vision Series, Neutral Series and All Season Window Film, along with specialized privacy, safety and security products.

These aren't simply different shades of commercial tint. A film's appearance doesn't tell you everything about how it performs, and that becomes especially important when you're working with larger areas of glass.

Commercial properties may also have competing priorities. An office may need better solar control without making the workspace noticeably darker. A storefront may need heat reduction while maintaining visibility through the glass. A conference room may need privacy without requiring the same film used on the building's exterior windows.

The film should match the glass, exposure and use of the space rather than applying one solution everywhere.

Where Commercial Window Film Makes Sense

Different areas of the same property can require different solutions.

Offices & Workspaces

Direct sunlight can create hot areas and screen glare even when the rest of the building is comfortable. Window film can target the affected exposure while maintaining natural light based on the film selected.

Conference Rooms & Privacy Glass

Privacy may be the primary objective for conference rooms, offices and certain interior glass rather than heat reduction. Privacy and decorative films can address those spaces without treating them like exterior solar-control windows.

Storefront & Customer-Facing Glass

Storefronts often need to balance solar control with visibility and appearance. The film selected should consider what customers need to see through the glass as well as how the windows look from the exterior.

Large Exterior Glass Areas

Larger expanses of exterior glass make consistency more important. Solar exposure, visible light, reflectivity and the exterior appearance of the building should be considered together when choosing a film.

A commercial window tinting project doesn't automatically have to cover the entire property. If one elevation or group of windows is creating most of the problem, a more targeted installation may be the better approach.

Choosing Window Film for a Commercial Property

There isn't one commercial window film that's right for every building—or necessarily one film that's right for every window in the same building.

Before choosing a film, consider:

  • What problem needs to be solved

  • Existing glass type and construction

  • Direction and amount of sun exposure

  • How the space behind the glass is used

  • Desired amount of visible light

  • Interior and exterior reflectivity

  • Privacy requirements

  • Storefront or customer visibility

  • Exterior building appearance

  • Interior versus exterior film application

  • Compatibility between the glass and intended film

These factors matter because the priorities can change from one side of a property to another. Automatically specifying the same film throughout a building may overlook those differences.

The better approach is to choose around the building, exposure and use of each space—not simply one film for every pane of glass.
